PSUFAA ALUMNI BASKETBALL LEAGUE

BASKET BALL GROUND RULES

 

ARTICLE I

THE TOURNAMENT

Section 1. There shall be held a PSUFAA Alumni Basketball League.

Section 2. The deadline for submission of entries shall be on or before February 28, 2020, at 5:00 PM at the Alumni Building, PSU, Goa, Camarines Sur, and the opening shall be on March 7, 2020, at 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon.

Section 3. The tournament shall be composed of the following categories:

  1. Wrangler
  2. Petmalu
  3. Lodi

Section 4. The tournament shall have three (3) categories namely; Wrangler, Petmalu and Lodi; wherein each division, the teams shall draw lots for the bracketing of teams.

ARTICLE II

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Section 1. No person shall be eligible to participate unless he meets any/or all of the following requirements:

  1. Certified alumnus of Partido High School/ Partido National High School/ Partido State College/ Partido State University.
  2. Players are not allowed to play in two (2) teams.
  3. Those whose age on the opening date of the tournament shall be:
    • Warngler - Batch 1990 & below
    • Petmalu - Batch 1991-2000
    • Lodi - Batch 2001- 2019
  4. NO changing of players or adding players is allowed.
  5. When the entry form is submitted it is considered as an official entry. No changing of players is allowed as the tournament started or any untoward incident happens to players.
  6. Entry forms will be submitted to MS. MARGARITA M. LANCISO, Alumni Affairs Director at the Alumni Building, PSU Goa Campus on or before 5:00 PM of February 28, 2020.

ARTICLE III

TEAM COMPOSITION

Section 1.  The team shall be composed of the following:

  • 15 players
  • 1 team coach
  • 1 Assistant Coach
  • Team manager
  • Team muse

ARTICLE IV

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Section 1. ENTRY FEES- There will be an entry fee of Two Thousand Pesos (P 2,000.00) per team. An official receipt will be issued by the Alumni Director upon payment and Xerox copy of the OR must be attached to the official line-up.

 

ARTICLE V

RULES OF CONDUCT

Section 1.  Every team/player shall observe the highest degree of sportsmanship as envisioned by the tournament.

Section 2. Players found positive to be under the influence of liquor and/or prohibited drugs shall be suspended from participating in the tournament.

Section 3.  Players should wear their respective team uniforms, however, if the team has no official uniform, players should be in proper basketball attire before he can be allowed to play.

Section 4. Any team that opted to walk out shall automatically lose their game.

Section 5. Gambling and betting in any form are strictly prohibited.

Section 6. Any player found guilty of personification shall be disqualified from the entire duration of the tournament.

ARTICLE VI

SCHEDULING/OFFICIATING

Section 1. The Alumni committee shall reserve the right to adopt a schedule of games which they deem favorable to the competing teams and to the tournament.

Section 2. In the case of rescheduled games. The tournament committee shall determine the re-scheduled games and the affected team shall be notified one 1) day before the re-scheduled games shall be played. The rescheduled games may be due to:

  1. Brown-Out
  2. Any untoward incident that is beyond the control the management

Section 3. Any or both teams scheduled to play but does not appear on the court within fifteen (15) minutes after the last call shall be a loser by forfeiture.

Section 4. The tournament shall be officiated by for accredited BAP Basketball Referee and their decision shall be final.

 

ARTICLE VII

PROTEST

Section 1. Protesting parties shall be held responsible for producing the necessary documents that would substantiate their claim.

Section 2. Protest concerning and other irregularities arising from a game in progress shall be forwarded to the tournament committee THREE (3) hours after the game in progress shall make the necessary annotation on the official scorebook advising the table officials that the game is under protest. 

Section 3. All protest shall be put formally in writing and it should be signed by the protesting party (Team Captain), and the Official Coach and duly received by the tournament committee and the necessary protesting of TWO THOUSAND (Php 2,000.00) had been settled to the Alumni Director.

Section 4. The decision of the protest committee (jury) on all protest shall be final.

 

ARTICLE VIII

PENALTY CLAUSE

Section 1. A player shall be barred from playing the next schedule game/ if found to have committed violations of any all provisions of these ground rules.

Section 2.  In any instance where any /or all teams is/are found to have participated in a fistfight brawl or any riotous act during the conduct of the games, the teams involved shall be barred from further participating in the tournament and shall be held responsible for the consequence of the seise act.

Section 3.  Any coach or member of the rest of the team who is under the influence of liquor or prohibited drugs shall be barred from holding his/her responsibility to a team shall be ejected from the bench by the officiating referees during their scheduled games.

Section 4. Any team whose player has been found guilty of IMPERSONIFICATION shall be meted the following penalties.

4.1 Disqualification of the personified player in the rest scheduled games /s of his team and deducting the points he contributes to the team during games he played prior to the complaint, for purpose of computation in case of tie.

ARTICLE IX

OFFICIATING TEAM

Section 1.  The organizational set-up of this tournament are as follows:

  • Tournament Manager
  • Alumni Officers
  • Referees and Official

 

ARTICLE X

GENERAL PROVISION

Section 1. The tournament shall govern by the latest FIBA rules and in case of conflict, this ground rules shall prevail.

Section 2. The management reserves the right to postpone or re-schedule any/ all games /s for just cause.

Section 3. The organizer and the officiating officials shall not be responsible or liable for any circumstances or injury that may happen to any of the players /team followers during the progress of the tournament.

ARTICLE XI

EFFECTIVITY

Section 1.  These ground rules shall take effect immediately after the tournament has commenced or started.
