Library Market Study

It is our annual commitment to enrich and update our library collections and to maximize the budget provided to the library as well as to comply with the standards set as far as Collection Development is concerned. In Partido State University selection and acquisition activity is a collaborative effort between the librarians and college deans wherein reference materials are reviewed, examined, evaluated and acquired in order to build an effective and efficient learning environment and to develop strong library collections.

For more than two (2) years now, the university library in cooperation with the campus libraries has been conducting series of market study activities, and last October 22-26, 2018 PSU College Librarians across campuses together with the budget officer, college deans and program directors went to different book dealers/companies such as

• the Belview Co.
• Books Atpb.
• C & E Publishing Inc.
• Bookquick Marketing
• and Serv Enterprises

to examine, evaluate and select books for acquisition.

Further, it is our duty to serve the information needs of our library customers, support the institution’s academic, curricular and research needs and to provide as much as possible a balanced library collection. Thus, with the administrator’s full support we are able to acquire various reference books and other library materials.
