



Partido State University (ParSU), in partnership with Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), officially strengthened its research collaboration through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing on April 20, 2026, held at the ParSU boardroom.
Through this partnership, ParSU, CBSUA, Bicol University, and Camarines Norte State College will share expertise, equipment, and facilities, standardize research methods, and strengthen capabilities in studying mangrove ecosystems. The collaboration also opens opportunities for faculty exchange, joint research discussions, and co-authorship of publications and intellectual property.
The MOA signing gathered key figures, including Agnes Z. Faustino, MSc, Project Leader from CBSUA; Dr. Arnel B. Zarcedo, ParSU President; Dr. Raul G. Bradecina, Vice President for Research and Extension; Prof. Patricia M. Candelaria, OIC Director of the Research and Development Division; and Mr. Jasper Nieves, Department Chair of the Fisheries Department, ParSU College of Fisheries and Marine Sciences- Sagรฑay campus.ย
Led by CBSUA, this partnership supports the National Research Council of the Philippines Grants-in-Aid (NCRP-GIA) Project E-283, titled โSpatial Dynamics and Governance of Mangrove Forests in San Miguel Bay: A GIS-Based Analysis for Sustainable Management.โ
This collaboration reinforces ParSUโs commitment to advancing research and environmental stewardship. By harnessing data-driven approaches, the project aims to protect mangrove ecosystems, preserve biodiversity, strengthen coastal resilience against climate change, and support the livelihoods of communities in San Miguel Bay.
