The Partido State University-Magellan-Elcano Studies Center, PARSU-Center for Partido Studies, PARSU-School of Graduate Studies and Research, Museo de Isarog, and Mexican Embassy in the Philippines invite the public to join and converse with the author Dr. Cuauhtémoc Villamar in his book presentation, “Portuguese merchants in the Manila Galleon System, 1565-1600”, (Routledge, 2021). Two research studies authored by PSU faculty members received best paper awards during the Regional Symposium on Research and Development Highlights (RSRDH) sponsored by the Bicol Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (BCAARRD) on February 8-9, 2021 via Google Meet.
Part of the extension efforts of the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) is responding to partners who are in need of expert assistance in doing research. The Naga City Science High School (NCSHS) sponsored a webinar entitled “CONNECT: A Series of Research Power Hours” on February 28-12, 2021 for its Junior and Senior High School Students. The webinar was designed to equip student-participants s with the required skills in conducting research.
The ParSU Statistics Center (PSC) and School of Graduate Studies (SGS) conducted a Webinar-Workshop on Statistical Tools and Analysis for Scientific Research for the Senior High School (SHS) students and faculty of the Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU). The event was initiated by the PSC Director and SGS Faculty Ms. Yumi Vivien V. De Luna and the ADNU SHS Work Immersion Program Coordinator Ms. Sarah May M. Querubin. The activity aimed to promote research and extension services among students and provide learning opportunities to the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) students as they develop their research.
The partnership which had been conceptualized almost two years ago, finally started early this year. Working for the common goal of improving the reading and numerical literacy of elementary pupils in the 23 elementary schools of Tigaon District, Partido State University and DepEd inked a memorandum to collaborate for the improvement of literacy level. Eventually, DepEd will produce better pupils and the Philippines will have an increased rating in the next OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).
