The Research and Development Division conducted a 3-Day Training Workshop on Intellectual Property (IP) and Patent Drafting through its Intellectual Property Unit on August 18 to 20, 2025, at the RDE Training Hall.Β
The activity featured Engr. NiΓ±o Angelo Torre, Intellectual Property Rights Specialist II, and Engr. Eric C. Paden, Intellectual Property Rights Specialist IV, from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), served as a resource speaker and facilitator.Β
They provided participants with practical guidance in preparing IP documents for official IPOPHL submission, delivering in-depth discussions on patent and industrial design protection, navigating the examination process, prior art search, drafting claims, specifications, and drawings, filing, registration, and finalizing patent documents and request forms.Β
Further, online payment procedures, schedules, patent annuities, and industrial design renewal requirements were tackled, strengthening ParSUβs innovation and research excellence capacity by equipping faculty researchers and innovators with the skills to safeguard their intellectual outputs.Β
By promoting proper IP documentation and protection, the university not only secures the rights of its creators but also reinforces its reputation in research, innovation, and technology transfer.Β
