Partido State University, through the Quality Assurance Office (QAO), strengthened its commitment to faculty empowerment through ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฏ๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐๐๐: ๐๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ-๐๐ข๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ , a two-day hybrid training held on July 28โ29, 2026, which brought together faculty members from across the University's campuses to enhance their competencies in instruction, research, innovation, artificial intelligence, and quality assurance.ย
The training provided faculty members with relevant insights and practical approaches they can apply in their respective colleges to further enhance teaching practices and student learning.
In his message, Vice President for Administration and Finance Prof. Charlie V. Balagtas emphasized the importance of equipping educators with practical approaches in utilizing artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in teaching and learning. He highlighted that embracing these advancements supports the University's efforts to prepare students with the competencies and 21st-century skills needed in an evolving global landscape.
The program featured keynote sessions from distinguished academic leaders such as Dr. Maricar S. Prudente, Professor of Science Education and Director of the Learning Leaders Development Program at De La Salle University, sharing her insights on the "Emerging Trends and Innovations Shaping Higher Education and Transformative Learning," and emphasizing the importance of creating meaningful and adaptive learning experiences.
Complementing this, Dr. Lany L. Maceda, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension of Bicol University, presented the Role of Educational Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Research, and Quality Assurance in Achieving Academic Excellence and Institutional Competitiveness, stressing how technology, research, and quality assurance practices can strengthen institutional performance and support continuous improvement in higher education.
Keeping the momentum going, Mr. Marvin Gabatin, Associate Dean of ParSU College of Education, led the session on Constructive Alignment and Outcomes-Based Education, focusing on strengthening curriculum planning and learner-centered teaching. This was followed by Dr. Kennedy C. Cuya, Graduate Program Coordinator for the Master of Information Technology under the College of Engineering and Computational Sciences, who led a workshop on Innovation and Artificial Intelligence Solutions in Higher Education, where participants explored practical applications of AI in teaching, learning, and academic work.
The workshop series also highlighted the importance of research and quality assurance in advancing academic practices with Dr. Michael A. Clores, Vice President for Academic Affairs, leading the session on Educational Research and Scholarly Productivity, highlighting the importance of strengthening faculty members' research involvement and scholarly outputs and Ms. Janeth A. Cledera, Director of the QAO, with a session on Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement in Higher Education, underscoring the importance of collective commitment in strengthening quality practices and sustaining a culture of excellence across the University.
To conclude, faculty members shared their outputs and demonstrated teaching strategies developed during the activity, thereby showcasing how the ideas and approaches discussed throughout ParSU Elevate 2026 can be applied in their respective classrooms. Among the presenters, Dr. Calyd T. Cerio, Associate Professor V of the College of Agribusiness and Community DevelopmentโSalogon Campus, was recognized as the Best Presenter and the ELEVATE Spark Award, for his outstanding presentation, effective delivery, teamwork, and demonstration of knowledge and skills during the activity.
ParSU also recognized faculty members who exemplified excellence throughout the program. Dr. Anabella C. Vilando received the ELEVATE Luminary Award, while the ELEVATE Innovator's Voice Award was presented to Mr. Rey B. Cornel, Mr. Jannoel B. Palo, Mr. Joseph A. Bermido, Mr. Cyrus Job P. Dela Cruz, and Ms. Irene P. Daet. These recognitions highlighted the faculty members' active engagement, valuable contributions, and commitment to professional growth throughout ParSU Elevate 2026.
Through ParSU Elevate 2026, the University continues to support the professional development of its educators, recognizing their vital role in delivering quality education.
