
Partido State University (ParSU) provided technical and academic expertise during the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Training on Basic Statistics for Local Government Units (LGUs) organized by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) โ Camarines Sur Provincial Statistical Office from February 25 to 27, 2026, at Summit Hotel, Naga City.
Supporting the initiative as a knowledge partner, ParSU deployed faculty experts who served as resource persons, contributing lectures and technical discussions aimed at strengthening the statistical competencies of LGU personnel in utilizing CBMS data for governance, planning, and decision-making.
Dr. Raul G. Bradecina, Vice President for Research and Extension, delivered a session on โConcepts and Tools for Application in Planning, Implementation, and Monitoring of SDG-aligned Programs and Projects in Camarines Sur,โ highlighting how statistical data can guide local governments in aligning development initiatives with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Meanwhile, Mr. Tom Arkhel D. Palma, Director of the Center for Statistics, discussed โUses of Statistics in Local Governance and Interpreting Statistical Results,โ emphasizing the importance of statistical literacy in analyzing community data and translating it into actionable insights for policy and program development.
Mr. Garry P. Dacillo, Program Chair of the BS Mathematics program, facilitated a session on โData Visualization for CBMS-based Local Governance,โ demonstrating methods for presenting statistical information through visual tools that enable clearer understanding and communication of community data.
Through these contributions, ParSU reaffirmed its role as a regional knowledge resource institution, supporting initiatives that enhance the capacity of local government units in evidence-based governance and data-driven local development.
