In a significant step toward advancing agriculture and fisheries research and extension, Partido State University (ParSU) officially signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the institutionalization of the Bicol Agriculture and Fisheries Resources, Research and Extension Development Network (BAFRREDN) at the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Field Office (RFO), San Agustin, Pili, Camarines Sur.
This initiative aligns with Memorandum Circular No. 02, Series of 2024, which establishes the Agriculture and Fisheries Resources, Research and Extension Development Network as a governing and policymaking body at national and regional levels. The network serves as a partnership mechanism for Agriculture and Fisheries Research for Development and Extension stakeholders, including National Government Agencies, State Universities and Colleges, Local Government Units, and Farmer Cooperatives and Associations. ย
Regional Executive Director of the DA RFO 5 Rodel P. Tornilla emphasized the significance of this milestone to advance research, extension, and development in agriculture and fisheries, which symbolizes a shared vision towards progress and sustainability. ParSU reaffirms its commitment to providing responsive research and needs-based extension services through this MOA, promoting sustainable practices and strengthening ties with key regional stakeholders for collective growth and development.
