At least 1600 individuals across the Bicol Region and other parts of the country participated in the annual Economics Kick-Off & Alternative Class Offering (EKONACO) on September 29, 2021. This year’s theme was “Ekonomiya Sa Gitna Ng Pandemya: The Filipino Bayanihan Spirit amidst Health and Economic Crises.” The Partido State University (ParSU) Extension and Community Services Office (UECS), Partido Institute of Economics (PIE) of the College of Business and Management (CBM), ParSU Economics Students Organization (PESO), the Council of Program Heads and Educators of Economics Bicol Region (COPHEE), and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office V collaborated in organizing the webinar that was streamed live in Zoom and Facebook: ParSU CBM Page, PSU Economics Program Page, and ParSU UECS Page.
After the three-day Basic Training on MOODLE Learning Management System (LMS) conducted in July 2021, the University's MOODLE Team continued with a four-phase capability-building program which shall run from August to December 2021. The components of the program were as follows: 1) Training for Course Managers; 2) MOODLE Hands-On Workshops at the Campus/ College-Level; 3) Student Orientation on MOODLE; and 4) Continuing MOODLE Training for Faculty.
The university has recently launched a project called "CAPABILITY-BUILDING FOR THE ROLL OUT OF THE INSTITUTIONAL LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS)" which is a sustained, massive training for all faculty and students of the five (5) colleges at the main campus and six (6) lateral campuses on how to fully benefit from the use of MOODLE as the university’s LMS.
Partido State University to boost its research capability in Marine Science and its allied programs by hosting its first Balik Scientist
Pursuant to RA 11035 “Balik Scientist Act” administered by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Partido State University is fortunate to host its first Balik Scientist, Dr. Irene B. Rodriguez. The aim is to reinforce the research culture at PSU by capacitating faculty researchers with working skills along with Marine Biology and its allied programs and to promote sustainable utilization and management of coastal and marine resources. It will be attained by mentoring faculty researchers in packaging research proposals, developing publishable research-based manuscripts, and conceptualizing science-driven community extension projects that are relevant to the communities served by PSU. Dr. Rodriguez will also contribute to the network expansion of the University’s faculty researchers. It is expected that continuous exposure to the said network can further enhance the capacity of the faculty researchers in their respective fields of specialization.
The Council of Deans for Graduate Education (CODGE V), in partnership with the Partido State University (PSU), Commission on Higher Education (CHED V), and Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), conducted the second of a series of research conferences last May 19-21, 2021. The research conference was open to all faculty and graduate students of higher educational institutions in the Bicol Region.
