Food Security is one of the primary problems of every developing country, like the Philippines. The COVID-19 pandemic excessively stretched the government capacity to secure food among households during the lockdown. With the government's efforts to slowly restart the economy and aim for its recovery, the Balongibog Talks offers to situate "Food Security in the New Normal". The back-to-back lecture from two Bicolano security experts provided a snapshot of the status and possible direction of the food security in the region in this new normal.

One of the online solutions sought to reduce or eliminate face-to-face transactions under threats of COVID-19, the Online Student Clearance System or OSCS rolls out of the Information and Communications Technology Management Office (ICTMO) development workshop. Now fully operational to cater to requests of students for clearance, the system designed and developed by ICTMO’s programmer, Mr. Aldwin R. Seboguero, under the directions and supervision of the ICTMO Director, Dr. Ronnel R. Atole, allows students to request clearance from offices anywhere through the internet. It is designed and implemented in the Laravel MVC (Model-View-Controller) framework and is currently hosted in a cloud infrastructure.

The Philippine educational system is undeniably one of the most affected social institutions by the COVID-19 pandemic. With the vaccine still being developed, the familiar educational set up of doing physical classes, fieldwork, research and extension activities will be significantly limited unless there is an immediate adaptation to change. The School of Graduate Studies (SGS), in the hope of discussing what these changes might be, collaborated with the Center for Partido Studies, Partido Institute of Economics, Museo de Isarog, College of Arts and Sciences, Office of the University President, Office of the Board Secretary, and PASFECUPP student volunteers to provide a week-long online conversation with the theme “Situating the New Normal of Advanced Education in Bicol.”
